Having just moved to Sage, it's a hige surprise that what I would expect as a basic part of the system is a manual process. You should be able to add a salary or hourly rate to an employees information. The pay run should then automatically show the weekly/monthly salary or hourly rate. When entering absences, or a leaver date, this should automatically calculate and deducte from the weekly/monthly salary. I honestly thought Sage would be ahead of the curve not behind even basic payroll systems out there.
