Reporting on annual payroll costs especially if financial year is different to tax year

To complete accounts, there needs to be a report that can be done to analyse the annual employment costs for the business' financial year, especially if doesn't match the tax year. Currently I have to run a report for each week and month and collate together to get the total annual employment costs.

We are pleased to announce we’ve made recent changes to Sage Business Cloud Payroll for UK and Irish customers to increase the flexibility of reporting.

For the following reports available via the Reporting menu, you can run the report including analysis types, based on a full tax year range or custom date ranges if you want to align it to your required financial dates / timelines. These reports can be exported to PDF or exported to CSV.

    • Employee Net Pay

    • Payslip Summary

    • Employer Costs

    • Employer Liabilities

In the coming months we will be making more improvements to reporting.

I agree with the other guests comments. I have never come across payroll software before that doesn't produce this report which is a necessity at year end. It's frustrating to have to add up every week on a spreadsheet when all other payroll software can generate that Gross to Nett report instantly.

The lack of being able to run a History report for multiple periods in one go is really becoming a pain now! As per the other comments, Accountants want these reports and I'm getting frustrated having to explain that I can't provide one. All the data is there, you just need to add a new box so we have Period From & Period To.
