On further consideration, the current licencing for Sage Business Cloud Payroll extends to up to 100 employees, if the product is to be taken to be a contender in switching from the desktop product or as competition to other developers then the inclusion of checking the HMRC mailbox for new tax codes is a must.
I had no idea that this functionality was not available when opting to use Sage Payroll and migrate from Sage 50 Payroll where the feature exists.
As employers have an obligation to ensure tax codes are applied and operated, and a connection has already been established to send information to HMRC, it is an expectation that the software should be able to check for new tax codes, send NI verification requests, etc. Is this not one of the basics that should be included.
Come on Sage, even Xero Payroll can do this!
